Al Molina is a talented musician who has been on the San Francisco jazz scene since the 50's, when you could find him playing at the Blackhawk's jam sessions. The Blackhawk is gone now, but look for Al at Jazz 'Round Shanghai 1930 in San Francisco. You can hear him on his three CD's, too. You will appreciate his combination of straight-ahead, bebop, and Latin jazz sounds.
Al has just released his third CD, Amigos Todos, which Scott Yanow calls "an infections session with catchy Latin rhythms, high-quality solos and an irresistible group spirit."
On Al's second CD, The Gift, you'll enjoy the romantically melodic sound of trumpet and trombone together, with a superb rhythm section, some of San Francisco's best jazz players.
